SSX Tricky on the GBA is a stripped-down but surprisingly fun take on the console version. You still get the over-the-top snowboarding action, but with chunky pixelated riders pulling off wild Uber Tricks—flips, spins, and grabs that feel ridiculous in the best way. The tracks are shorter, obviously, but they’ve got that same chaotic energy where you’re barely staying on course while boosting through jumps.
It’s missing some of the flair of the PS2 original (no Run-D.M.C. soundtrack here), but for a handheld port, it holds up. You’ll spend most of your time trying to nail combos for big scores, and the controls are tight enough that it doesn’t feel like a compromise. If you’ve got nostalgia for the series, this one’s a solid time-killer.
