SD Gundam G Generation Advance is one of those GBA games that flew under the radar for a lot of people, but if you're into tactical RPGs and Gundam, it's a weird little gem. The chibi-style mobile suits look ridiculous at first—until you realize how satisfying it is to build your dream team from across the Gundam universe.
It plays a lot like the Wonderswan versions, so expect grid-based battles where positioning matters more than you'd think. The crossover story throws characters from different timelines together in a way that shouldn't work but somehow does, especially when you start unlocking obscure mobile suits. First time I played, I wasted half an hour just scrolling through the roster before even starting a mission.
Fair warning: the menus are a bit clunky by modern standards, and the English translation is... creative. But if you can get past that, there's a surprisingly deep strategy game here. I still remember my first disastrous attempt at a Zeon-only run.
