Man, this Rugrats game on Game Boy Color is brutal for something based on a cartoon for toddlers. You play as Tommy, Chuckie, and the gang, but don’t let the cute sprites fool you—the platforming is weirdly punishing. One wrong jump and you’re back at the start of the level, which feels especially cruel when you’re just trying to collect Reptar bars or whatever.
I remember getting stuck on the toy store level for ages because the hit detection is janky, and the controls have that slightly floaty feel old GBC games sometimes do. It’s got that weird early licensed-game energy where someone clearly thought "kids love Rugrats, they’ll play anything," and then made it way harder than it needed to be. Still weirdly nostalgic, though.
