About Rugrats : Castle Capers
Rugrats: Castle Capers came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of licensed games that tried to capture the show's humor on a handheld. You don't see many platformers based on cartoons that really stick with you, but this one had its own little take on the formula.
You control Tommy Pickles, navigating through a large, multi-level castle. Your goal is to rescue the other babies, who are trapped in different parts of the fortress. The game plays out screen by screen; you explore rooms, avoid hazards like knights and spiders, and use a rattle to stun enemies. You also collect bottles and cookies to replenish health and earn extra lives. The pacing is fairly slow, and some jumps require precise timing, which can be tricky. It feels like a straightforward, slightly clunky adventure that captures the show's low stakes and charm.
