Rokumon Tengai Mon-Colle-Knight GB is one of those weird, charming Game Boy Color RPGs that never left Japan. You collect and battle monsters, but it’s got this odd mix of medieval knights and creatures—like someone mashed up Pokémon with a low-budget fantasy anime. The sprites are tiny but weirdly detailed, and the battles are faster than you’d expect for a GBC game.
First few minutes? You pick a starter (I went with the dragon thing, no regrets), then immediately get thrown into a fight where the controls make just enough sense to not be frustrating. The music’s got that classic tinny Game Boy charm, too. If you’re into obscure monster-collecting games, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
