Rockman EXE 5: Team of Colonel came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed and published by Capcom. You control Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, switching between exploring the real world on a top-down grid and diving into the net for combat. Your main goal is to stop the sinister Nebula organization by battling through various internet areas and defeating their powerful Navis. The combat happens on a split screen in real-time; you select Battle Chips from a custom folder to attack, while also moving on a grid to dodge enemy fire. A key mechanic is the Liberation Missions, where you command a small team of Navis to capture territory on a map within a strict turn limit. The game has a brisk pace, though some of the later Liberation Missions can get quite difficult and require careful planning. Playing it feels like a constant, engaging back-and-forth between strategic preparation and fast-paced execution.
