Rockman EXE 5: Team of Blues came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed and published by Capcom. It was part of that busy period for the handheld where action RPGs with anime styles were common, and this was one of several entries in the Mega Man Battle Network series.
You control Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, navigating two interconnected worlds: the real world and the cybernetic internet. Your main goal is to stop the evil organization Nebula by completing missions, which involves moving screen by screen through grid-based network areas. The signature mechanics are the real-time battle system on a 3x6 panel grid, where you use a custom folder of Battle Chips for attacks and abilities, and the Liberation Missions, which are large-scale tactical operations where you must free occupied panels within a strict turn limit. The pacing is brisk, with a difficulty that spikes sharply during these strategic missions. Playing it feels like a constant, engaging scramble between planning your chip combos and reacting instantly to enemy patterns.
