Robopon Sun is basically Pokémon but with little robots—and honestly, that’s all I needed to hear back in the Game Boy Color days. You start off picking your first Robopon (I always went with the fire one, because explosions), then it’s off to tinker with their parts, swap out batteries for upgrades, and battle other trainers in turn-based scraps.

The sprites are chunky and colorful in that classic GBC way, and the world’s got that weird charm where you’re fighting robot chickens one minute and exploring a factory the next. It’s not the deepest RPG, but there’s something satisfying about grinding your little bots into overpowered scrap-metal champions. Just don’t expect the postgame to last forever.
