Road Rash on the Game Boy Color came out in 2000, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring console-style action to a handheld, a time when you could suddenly race motorcycles in your pocket. This version had to make some compromises, of course, but it carried over the core idea from the bigger console games.

You control a biker in illegal street races, weaving through traffic on winding roads. The main goal is to finish in the top three to earn cash and advance to faster bikes and new locations. Your signature moves are punching and kicking rival racers to knock them off their bikes, while also avoiding police cars that try to run you off the road. The racing is split into distinct stages, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as opponents become more aggressive and the courses get tighter. It feels chaotic and tense, a constant scramble to stay upright while causing as much mayhem as possible.
