Road Rash on the Sega Master System is basically what happens when you mix illegal street racing with a bar fight. You’re weaving through traffic at ridiculous speeds, but half the fun comes from whacking rival bikers with a bat or kicking them off their rides mid-race. The controls are a little janky—good luck landing a clean hit without swerving into a ditch—but that just makes the chaos more satisfying when you finally send some jerk flying into a guardrail.

Graphics are about what you’d expect from an 8-bit port, but the sense of speed holds up, and there’s something weirdly addictive about the way the cops show up just to make your life harder. If you’ve got a thing for old-school, no-rules racing, this one’s still a riot.
