About Road Champs - Bxs Stunt Biking
Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Vivid Image and published by Midway. It was part of that wave of late-era Game Boy Color titles trying to capture the feel of extreme sports games that were popular on home consoles at the time.
You control a stunt biker from an isometric perspective, navigating through obstacle-filled courses. The main goal is to complete each level by reaching the finish line, but the real challenge is performing tricks and wheelies to earn points and unlock new bikes. Signature mechanics include building up a boost meter by doing stunts, which you then use for bursts of speed, and carefully managing your landings to avoid crashing. The pacing is fast, and the physics demand precision, making some of the later levels quite difficult. It feels like a constant battle between wanting to pull off a flashy trick and the immediate risk of wiping out on the pavement.
