Reggie Jackson Baseball Game

Reggie Jackson Baseball on the Sega Master System is one of those old-school sports games that somehow nails the simple joy of baseball without overcomplicating things. You pick your team (no MLB licenses here, but you can tell who’s who), choose between a few basic pitches, and just swing away. The fielding’s a little janky—good luck chasing down a deep fly ball—but that’s part of the charm.
What I love is how fast-paced it feels compared to modern baseball sims. No endless menus or stat screens—just pick up and play. The pixelated Reggie even does his little home run trot if you manage to send one over the fence. It’s not perfect, but if you’ve got a soft spot for 8-bit sports games, this one’s a solid pick.
