I picked up Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 for the Game Boy Advance back in 2001. It was a Midway Games release, one of many arcade style ports that tried to capture a console feel on the small screen. This was during the early days of the GBA, when developers were still figuring out how to translate 3D concepts into a 2D space, and you saw a lot of ambitious, sometimes awkward, adaptations.

You control a cartoonish boxer, choosing from a roster of fighters, and your goal is to win matches and climb the ranks. The core gameplay involves tapping buttons for jabs and hooks, holding for stronger punches, and using the D pad to dodge and weave. Two signature mechanics are the Rumble Mode, which builds up as you land punches and temporarily powers up your fighter, and a visible stamina meter that forces you to manage your attacks and blocks carefully. The pacing is fast, with rounds that feel quick, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly against later opponents who block more and counter punch effectively. It feels like a simplified, portable version of a chaotic arcade brawler.
