About Ready 2 Rumble Boxing - Round 2 (u)(eurasia)
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, a Midway release that landed right when the handheld was filling up with arcade-style ports. It was part of that early GBA wave where you saw a lot of console games getting scaled down versions, and this one tried to bring the over-the-top boxing feel to a smaller screen.
You control a cartoonish boxer, throwing jabs, hooks, and uppercuts with the face buttons while using the D-pad to move and block. The main goal is to climb the ranks through a series of fights, either in a championship career mode or quick exhibition matches. Two mechanics stand out: building up your Rumble Flashes by landing punches, which you can then unleash for a temporary power-up, and the exaggerated character animations that show your opponent getting progressively more dazed and wobbly. The pacing is fast, rounds are short, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly against later opponents. It feels like a simplified, portable version of a punchy arcade brawler.
