Rayman 2 on Game Boy Color is one of those weirdly good handheld ports—it’s not just a watered-down version of the console game. You’re still playing as the limbless wonder, bouncing around pirate ships and jungles, collecting those little yellow Lums while Razorbeard’s goons try to wreck your day.
The controls feel surprisingly tight for a GBC game, and the levels actually have some depth to them—you’ll be sliding down vines, riding rockets (yes, really), and figuring out how to open doors by punching switches in the right order. The puzzles aren’t brain-melting, but they make you stop and look around instead of just mindlessly running forward.
Honestly, the sprite work holds up better than you’d expect. The colors pop, and Rayman’s goofy animations give it that classic charm. If you’ve got a soft spot for late-era Game Boy Color platformers, this one’s a solid playthrough.
