Rayman 2 on the Game Boy Color is one of those rare ports that actually holds up—surprisingly solid for a handheld version of a 3D classic. You’re bouncing between floating islands, punching pirate robots, and collecting those little yellow lums (which, yeah, you’ll still be hearing their jingle in your sleep). The controls are tight, and the levels are condensed but still feel like proper adventures—no small feat for the GBC.
It’s got that weird, dreamlike Rayman vibe where everything’s a little offbeat, from the gibberish-speaking characters to the way enemies explode into musical notes. The pirate invasion story is simple, but the world just oozes charm. If you’ve got nostalgia for late ‘90s platformers, this one’s a great way to kill a bus ride.
