Okay, so Ratatouille on the GBA is way more fun than I expected. You play as Remy, this tiny rat with big cooking dreams, sneaking through Parisian kitchens while avoiding chefs who really don’t want rodents near their food. The pixel art’s surprisingly lively—Remy’s little animations when he’s chopping veggies or dodging a broom are weirdly charming.
Most of the game’s a mix of platforming (jumping across countertops, hiding under pots) and quick-time cooking minigames. The first time I botched a recipe by missing a button prompt and burned a dish, I actually felt bad. Like, Remy looked devastated. But nailing a perfect ratatouille while some angry chef chases you? Weirdly satisfying.
It’s not super deep, but if you liked the movie or just want something light with a dash of chaos, it’s a solid pick. Just don’t play it on an empty stomach—all the food sprites look weirdly delicious for a 16-bit game.
