About Quest For Camelot (en,fr,es)
I picked up Quest for Camelot for the Game Boy Color back in 1998, a time when handheld games were really coming into their own. It was published by Titus Interactive, and it's an adaptation of the animated film, placing you right in the middle of that Arthurian world. It was one of many action platformers on the system, a familiar genre for anyone with a Game Boy in their pocket.
You control Kayley, a young woman determined to become a knight of the Round Table. Your main goal is to stop the villain Ruber from stealing Excalibur and overthrowing King Arthur. The game plays out screen by screen; you move through forests, caves, and castle ruins, fighting off enemies with your sword and occasionally using a bow for ranged attacks. You explore these areas thoroughly, often backtracking to find keys or items needed to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and some sections can be quite challenging, demanding precise jumps and careful enemy management. It feels like a solid, hands-on adventure where your own timing and exploration directly shape the journey.
