Quest: Fantasy Challenge came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Natsume. It was part of that wave of late-era GBC titles that tried to squeeze a bit more adventure out of the hardware before the Advance arrived. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a certain charm for what it was.

You control a young hero tasked with gathering the scattered pieces of the Sun Stone to prevent the world from falling into eternal darkness. The game plays out across an overworld and a series of dungeons, moving screen by screen. Combat is straightforward; you use a sword for close encounters and a bow for hitting switches or enemies from a distance. A key part of the loop is finding special items, like the Hookshot, to access new areas. The pacing is deliberate, and some of the later dungeons can be tricky to navigate without mapping things out. It feels like a compact, thoughtful adventure where every new tool opens up another part of the world.
