I picked up Quan Ba Tian Xia, also known as Bloodsport, on the Game Boy Color back when it was new. It was a Chinese developed release, a side scrolling action game that fit right in with the handheld's library of straightforward martial arts titles. You control a lone fighter navigating a series of stages, each screen presenting a new set of enemies to defeat.

Your character moves from left to right, using punches, kicks, and special moves to clear out waves of opponents. The main goal is simply to fight through each level, defeating the boss that waits at the end. The combat relies on timing your attacks and jumps to avoid taking damage; you have a life bar that depletes quickly if you are not careful. It is a difficult game where a few mistakes can force you to restart the stage. Playing it feels like a constant test of your reflexes and patience.
