Puyo Pop on the GBA is where the series really started feeling polished—Sonic Team took the already-solid Puyo Puyo 2 mechanics and gave them a fresh coat of paint. The story mode’s new, but don’t expect anything deep—just a fun excuse to chain ridiculous combos against quirky opponents.

You’ll recognize the same addictive puzzle chaos from before: match four blobs, watch them pop, and pray your opponent’s screen floods with garbage blocks before yours does. The GBA’s tiny screen actually works in its favor here—everything’s snappy, and the colors pop. I still get flashbacks to that one boss who spammed way too many sun puyos.

If you’ve ever lost an hour to falling blobs, this one’s a no-brainer.
