About Pro Darts
Pro Darts came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Ignition Entertainment. It was part of that wave of sports titles trying to capture a specific real world competition on the small screen, a straightforward attempt to bring the pub game into your hands.
You control a dart thrower, aiming at a digital dartboard. The main goal is to win matches by hitting high scoring segments and closing out numbers before your opponent. The signature mechanics involve using the D-pad to move a targeting cursor and a timing meter for your throw; you need to stop the meter in the sweet spot for accuracy. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the computer opponents can be surprisingly sharp, punishing a sloppy throw.
