Power Rangers: Time Force on GBC is one of those licensed games that actually gets it right. You start off picking your ranger—I always went with Jen, the Pink Ranger, because her blaster felt snappier—and then you’re immediately thrown into side-scrolling action, punching through mutant goons and dodging lasers. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy Color title, and the Zord battles? Way more fun than they had any right to be.
It’s got that classic beat-em-up feel but with just enough variety to keep it from getting stale. One minute you’re brawling in a futuristic city, the next you’re piloting a Megazord in a turn-based showdown. And yeah, the nostalgia hits hard if you grew up with the show—the music, the morphing sequences, all of it. Just don’t expect a deep RPG or anything; this is pure, straightforward Power Rangers action.
If you’ve got a soft spot for late-90s handheld games or the Time Force season, this one’s a solid playthrough. The final boss fight alone makes it worth dusting off your GBC.
