About Polly Pocket! : Super Splash Island (vivendi)
I picked up Polly Pocket: Super Splash Island for the Game Boy Advance back in 2003. It was published by Vivendi, one of those many licensed games that filled the handheld's library. It felt very much of its time, a bright and simple adventure aimed at a younger audience, without the complexity of some other GBA titles.
You control Polly Pocket herself, guiding her through a series of themed islands. The main goal is to explore each screen based area to collect a certain number of shells before you can move on. The gameplay involves a lot of running and jumping across platforms, using items like a snorkel to breathe underwater and a water gun to interact with the environment. It is not a particularly difficult game; the challenge is more about thorough exploration than precise timing. The overall feeling is light and cheerful, a straightforward quest that moves at a relaxed pace.
