About Polarium Advance
Polarium Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Nintendo. It was a time when the GBA library was full of inventive puzzle games, and this one fit right in with its clean, simple look. The game was developed by Mitchell Corporation, the same team behind the original Polarium on the Nintendo DS, and it felt like a natural fit for the handheld's screen.
You control a cursor to flip black and white tiles on a grid. Your goal is to turn the entire board into a single solid color, either all white or all black, by the time you reach the exit. The core mechanic is drawing a single continuous line across the tiles; every tile the line passes over flips its color. Later puzzles introduce obstacles like gray tiles that cannot be flipped and special switches that change the rules. The game starts gently but the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding careful planning for each line you draw. Solving a particularly stubborn puzzle gives a real sense of quiet satisfaction.
