About Pokemon: Edicion Platino
Pokemon: Edicion Platino came out for the Nintendo DS in 2008, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. It was part of that era where the dual screens and touch input started to feel normal, and this game used the bottom screen for your menu and Poketch apps while the top showed the world. It's the enhanced version of Diamond and Pearl, set in the Sinnoh region.
You control a young trainer leaving their hometown to fill the Pokedex and challenge the region's eight Gyms. Your main goal is to become the Pokemon League Champion, but the story expands as you confront Team Galactic, a group trying to reshape the world using legendary Pokemon. Signature mechanics include exploring routes and caves screen by screen, engaging in turn based battles where type matchups are crucial, and using the Poketch for small utilities like a step counter or a daycare checker. A major addition is the Distortion World, a bizarre area with altered gravity and physics that you navigate to catch Giratina. The pacing is steady, with some demanding boss fights that require thoughtful team building. The difficulty feels fair but will test your preparation, especially in the late game areas like Mt. Coronet. It feels like a complete and polished adventure where every new area holds a genuine discovery.
