Pokémon Platinum on the DS is basically Sinnoh but better—they took Diamond and Pearl and actually made the game run smoothly. You still start in Twinleaf Town, pick your starter (Turtwig forever), and get thrown into the usual gym battles and evil team nonsense. But the Distortion World stuff with Giratina? Way cooler than I expected.
They sped up the battles, added the Battle Frontier from Emerald, and let you actually catch both Dialga and Palkia in one playthrough. The underground base thing is still weirdly fun, and the Pokétch apps are more useful this time around. If you’ve played Diamond/Pearl, it’s the same map but with actual polish.
Also, Cynthia’s Garchomp will still wreck you. Just saying.
