Pokémon Black 2, but with the EXP curve fixed—so you don’t end up either grinding forever or steamrolling everything by accident. It’s still the same Unova you remember, just smoother. You start in Aspertia City this time, with a fresh rival who actually feels like a person instead of just some guy who exists to lose to you. The first gym’s a bit of a curveball if you picked Snivy, but hey, that’s what catching extra Pokémon is for.

What I like about this version is that the pacing feels right—your team levels up naturally as you go, no weird spikes where you’re suddenly underleveled for no reason. And yeah, the story’s still weirdly good for a Pokémon game, with Team Plasma pulling their usual nonsense but with actual consequences this time. If you missed Gen 5 or just want to replay it without the original’s janky EXP scaling, this is the way to do it.
