Okay, so this is the weird one—Planet of the Apes on Game Boy Color. It’s not just a shrunken-down version of the PlayStation game, which is what I expected at first. Nope, totally different story, different characters, and honestly, a little janky in that classic late-90s handheld way.

You play as this human astronaut (of course) stranded on the ape planet, sneaking around, punching monkeys when you have to. The sprites are tiny but kinda charming, and the music has that tinny GBC vibe. It’s not deep, but if you’re into weird licensed games or just love Apes lore, it’s a fun little curiosity.

Fair warning though—some of the platforming bits will make you want to throw your Game Boy across the room.
