About Planet Monsters
I first played Planet Monsters on the Game Boy Advance back when it launched in 2000. It was developed by Planet Interactive and published by Infogrames, a title that fit right in with the platform's growing library of quirky action games. You controlled a little astronaut tasked with clearing alien planets of monsters, screen by screen. The main goal was straightforward: eliminate every creature on each stage before you could move on to the next.
Movement was grid based; you could push blocks to crush enemies or trap them, and you had to be careful not to get cornered yourself. The pacing was methodical, almost puzzle like, because rushing usually got you killed. It wasn't extremely hard, but it demanded some forethought. Wiping a screen clean of monsters gave a real sense of relief and progress.
