So, this is the GBA version of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and honestly? It’s not bad for a handheld movie tie-in. You get to play as Jack Sparrow (of course), swinging swords, dodging cursed sailors, and doing all the usual pirate-y stuff—just with that trademark drunken swagger.
The controls are simple—attack, jump, block—but the real fun comes from the little details. Jack stumbles when he stops running, and the animations actually make him feel like he’s barely holding it together. The levels follow the movie’s plot loosely, so you’ll fight through Port Royal, creepy caves, and even the Kraken at one point. Some of the platforming can be a bit janky, but hey, it’s a GBA game from 2006—what do you expect?
If you’re into movie games or just want a quick pirate fix, this one’s decent for a playthrough. Just don’t go in expecting a masterpiece.
