Pinky and the Brain: The Masterplan came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, developed by Warthog and published by Ignition Entertainment. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers that filled the GBA library, a straightforward adaptation of the animated series where two lab mice scheme for world domination.
You control Brain, and sometimes Pinky, through side scrolling levels set in locations like Acme Labs or a toy factory. Your goal is to collect components for a series of ridiculous inventions, which are the main objectives for each stage. The gameplay involves typical platforming, jumping on enemies and avoiding hazards, but it's built around switching between the two characters to solve puzzles; Brain can operate machinery while Pinky can fit into small pipes. You also gather cheese to unlock new gadgets between levels. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky enemy placements that can cause cheap deaths. It feels like a competent, if slightly clunky, cartoon episode you play through.
