If you've seen the Over the Hedge movie, you already know the vibe—RJ the raccoon and his gang of forest misfits causing chaos in suburbia. The GBA game nails that same energy, throwing you into short, snappy levels where you switch between characters to pull off heists, dodge humans, and scavenge snacks. Verne the turtle moves like he’s stuck in molasses (because, well, he’s a turtle), but RJ’s got speed and a knack for tossing stuff. The puzzles aren’t brain-melters, but figuring out which critter’s ability gets you past a fence or into a locked garage feels satisfying.
It’s got that early 2000s licensed-game charm—bright colors, goofy animations, and just enough variety to keep it from feeling repetitive. Not gonna lie, some of the platforming’s a little janky (looking at you, Hammy’s bouncing sections), but it’s hard to stay mad when the whole thing’s this silly. Perfect for short bursts between bus rides or pretending to pay attention in class. The suburbs have never been this chaotic.
