Oshare Princess is one of those GBA gems that’s way more fun than it has any right to be. You start off picking your princess—I went with the pink-haired one because, well, obviously—and then it’s straight into styling challenges. The first one’s simple: dress her up for a casual hangout, but the judges get weirdly picky about color coordination. Like, who knew a denim skirt with the wrong shade of blue would tank your score?
The real hook is how the game mixes dress-up with light strategy. You earn coins to unlock new clothes, but some pieces give hidden stat boosts for certain events. My first runway disaster happened because I stacked all the sparkly accessories without realizing the theme was "sporty chic." The pixel art’s surprisingly detailed too—little things like how the dresses animate when your princess walks or the judge’s exaggerated reactions make it feel alive.
It’s not deep, but there’s something satisfying about unlocking that one perfect outfit combo that finally crushes the snobby rival designer. Just don’t blame me when you catch yourself muttering "maybe the polka-dot beret would’ve worked better" at 2 AM.
