Operation Wolf Game

Operation Wolf on the Sega Master System is one of those arcade ports that somehow feels more intense when you're sitting at home—probably because you're not distracted by the giant plastic Uzi controller. You start off blasting through jungles and military bases, mowing down enemies before they can even react, but don’t get cocky. The second you reload, some guy with a rocket launcher pops up out of nowhere.
It’s simple—point, shoot, don’t die—but the speed ramps up fast. By the third stage, you’re frantically trying to pick off paratroopers while dodging grenades, and suddenly that unlimited ammo doesn’t feel like such a cheat. The graphics are chunky, the sound effects are gloriously loud, and yeah, you’ll probably burn through continues like crazy. Still, there’s something satisfying about finally nailing that perfect run where you rescue all the hostages without taking a hit.
If you’ve got a soft spot for old-school light gun games (or just want to see where modern shooters got their roots), this one’s a blast—literally.
