About Open Season (e)(rising Sun)
Open Season came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, a time when licensed games based on animated films were common on the handheld. Ubisoft published this one, and it follows the movie's plot about a domesticated grizzly bear and a one antlered deer causing chaos in the woods.
You control Boog the bear, sometimes switching to Elliot the deer, as you move through side scrolling levels. Your main goal is to cause enough trouble to drive the hunters out of the forest. You punch and charge at hunters and other animals, and you can also pick up items like pinecones to throw. The levels are broken into distinct screens you clear of enemies before moving on. It is not a particularly difficult game, but some sections require careful timing to avoid getting hit. The overall feeling is one of simple, straightforward action.
