Capcom released Onimusha Tactics for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. It was part of that wave of strategy RPGs that found a solid home on the handheld, sitting alongside other grid based titles from that period. The game transplants the feudal Japan and demon hunting themes of the main Onimusha series into a tactical format.

You command a small squad of warriors, moving them across isometric grid maps to complete objectives, usually the elimination of all enemy units. Each character has a distinct role; some are strong in melee with swords, while others attack from a distance with bows or magic. A key mechanic is absorbing the souls of defeated enemies to power up your weapons and learn new skills. The pacing is deliberate, with each battle requiring careful positioning and resource management. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes demanding puzzle where a single misstep can force a restart.
