Oide Rascal is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this goofy charm to it. You play as this kid running around what looks like a school, solving puzzles and avoiding teachers (or maybe they’re ghosts? Honestly, the translation’s rough). The pixel art’s simple but colorful, and the controls are just stiff enough to make you panic when you’re trying to hide behind a desk.

First few minutes, you’re mostly figuring out how not to get caught while picking up random items—some help, some don’t. There’s a weird satisfaction in finally getting past that one hallway that kept tripping you up. Not sure if it’s a stealth game, a puzzle game, or just a fever dream, but it’s oddly fun once it clicks.
