Oddworld Adventures II is one of those weird little Game Boy Color gems that somehow crammed the Oddworld vibe into a tiny cartridge. You play as Abe, the blue Mudokon with a face only a mother could love, sneaking past sligs and rescuing your fellow enslaved workers. It's got that classic Oddworld mix of dark humor and clunky-but-charming platforming—expect a lot of trial and error as you figure out the timing for jumps and when to use Abe's weird psychic powers.
The controls take some getting used to (this was the Game Boy era, after all), but once it clicks, there's something satisfying about outsmarting the guards with well-timed possession or a perfectly thrown rock. The puzzles are just the right level of frustrating—not impossible, but you'll definitely mutter "oh come on" a few times before the solution hits you.
If you're into retro platformers with personality, this one's worth dusting off—just don't expect it to hold your hand.
