Oddworld Adventures II came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Saffire and published by GT Interactive. It was part of that wave of late-era Game Boy games that tried to squeeze more complex console-style adventures onto the small screen. You control Abe, a Mudokon worker who has escaped from the RuptureFarms meat processing plant and is now trying to rescue his fellow Mudokons from a different, equally grim industrial facility.

Your main goal is to guide Abe through side-scrolling industrial levels, screen by screen, to find and free all the captive Mudokons. You spend a lot of time sneaking past guards and security systems, using Abe's ability to possess enemies to turn them against each other or solve environmental puzzles. You also chant at bird portals to open them and carefully navigate platforms, often with instant-death pitfalls below. The game is notoriously difficult, demanding precise timing and a lot of trial and error. It feels tense and methodical, where a single mistake can send you back to the start of a challenging section.
