About Nobunaga No Yabou
Nobunaga No Yabou on the Game Boy Advance came out in 2002 from Koei. It was a time when complex strategy games were a rare find on a handheld, and this one fit right into that niche. You didn't get many deep simulations on the GBA, so this title stood out for its ambition.
You control a daimyo, a feudal lord, and your goal is to unify Japan under your banner. The game is played on a map of Japan divided into provinces. You manage your lands by developing farms and markets to increase your gold and rice income. You recruit generals, form armies, and engage in tactical battles on a grid. The pacing is deliberate; you spend a lot of time planning your economic growth and military alliances before committing to a campaign. It feels like a thoughtful, long-term puzzle where every decision has weight.
