Nicktoons Racing came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Tiertex and published by Majesco. It was one of many kart racers on the system, a time when every cartoon property seemed to get its own racing spin-off. You picked from a cast of Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob and Tommy Pickles, each with their own little kart.

You control your chosen character in a series of races across different themed tracks. The main objective is to finish first in a cup championship, which involves winning several races in a row. Signature mechanics include picking up weapons and power-ups from item boxes on the track to slow down opponents, and performing a turbo boost by tapping a button right as you pass over arrows. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike on later courses where the computer racers seem to have perfect aim with their items. It feels like a simplified, portable version of the kart racing games I played on consoles at the time.
