This little Game Boy Color gem is basically a Tamagotchi but with way more charm. You get this tiny pixel hamster to take care of—feed it, play with it, watch it run around its little cage. The animations are surprisingly lively for a GBC game, and there's something weirdly satisfying about seeing your hamster stuff its cheeks full of food.
At first I thought it'd be super basic, but there are actually different mini-games and ways to interact with your pet. My hamster kept getting mad at me until I figured out the right balance between treats and exercise. Classic 90s Japan-only release, so everything's in Japanese, but the icons make it easy enough to figure out.
It's the kind of game you boot up when you just want something cute and low-stakes to mess around with for 10 minutes.
