Okay, so Mucha Lucha! Mascaritas of the Lost Code is basically what happens when you take Saturday morning cartoon wrestling and cram it into a GBA cartridge. You pick one of those wild masked luchadores (Rikochet was my go-to, but Buena Girl’s aerial moves are no joke) and just start tossing dudes around like ragdolls.
The first thing you’ll notice is how over-the-top everything is—bright colors, exaggerated animations, and these little cutscenes that feel ripped straight from the show. The controls are simple—jump, punch, grapple—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about chaining together a ridiculous combo and finishing with a piledriver off the top rope.
It’s not exactly deep, but it nails that chaotic, slightly silly vibe of the cartoon. If you ever wanted to suplex a guy into a taco stand while announcers scream in Spanish, this is your game. Just don’t expect a technical wrestling sim—it’s more like playing through an episode of the show, complete with cheesy one-liners and way too much spandex.
