About Mr. Incredible
I picked up Mr. Incredible for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, a time when licensed games based on movies were everywhere. THQ published it, and it was one of many action platformers trying to capture the feel of the Pixar film on the small screen. You control Bob Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible, through a series of levels that loosely follow the movie's plot. The game is structured as a straightforward side-scroller where you move from left to right, punching robots and navigating environmental hazards.
Your main goal is to fight through each stage, defeating enemies and eventually confronting the villain, Syndrome. The gameplay revolves around a few key actions: you punch and perform a ground slam to attack, and you can also lift and throw certain objects or enemies. Some sections require you to solve simple environmental puzzles, like moving crates to reach higher platforms. The pacing is generally brisk, though the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later levels, especially during boss fights. Playing it feels like a competent, if unremarkable, translation of superhero strength into a classic platforming format.
