Mother 1 And 2 (english Translation) Game

Okay, so this is the GBA version of the first two Mother games—EarthBound fans know the deal, but if you’ve only played the SNES classic, these are way weirder. Like, way weirder. The first one’s got this rough-around-the-edges NES RPG vibe (random encounters, brutal difficulty spikes), while the second feels closer to EarthBound’s humor but with a grungier, almost dreamlike tone.
You’ll start off in Mother 1 as this kid with psychic powers chasing after his missing… sister? Mom? Honestly, the translation’s a little janky, but that kinda adds to the charm. Then Mother 2 throws you into a surreal road trip with a baseball bat-wielding kid and his oddball friends. The music’s weirdly catchy, the enemies are ridiculous (fighting a pile of vomit is normal here), and the writing’s got that same offbeat humor EarthBound’s famous for.
Fair warning: Mother 1’s a slog if you’re not into old-school grinding, but stick with it—there’s something hypnotic about how bizarre the whole thing gets. This version’s the only official way to play Mother 2 in English without emulation, so that alone makes it worth a look.
