Man, Mortal Kombat II on the Sega Master System—what a weird little port. It’s got all the blood and fatalities you’d expect, but everything moves at half speed, and the sprites are somehow even chunkier than the arcade version. Still, there’s something charming about it. Scorpion’s spear looks like a stretched-out pixel noodle, and Liu Kang’s bicycle kick is just… sad. But hey, you can uppercut someone into the pit, and that’s all that really matters.

If you’re used to the SNES or Genesis versions, this one’s gonna feel like playing in molasses. But if you’re nostalgic for that early ‘90s jank, it’s a fun curiosity. Just don’t expect to pull off any fancy combos.
