Mortal Kombat Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Virtucraft and published by Midway. It was a portable attempt to bring the arcade fighting experience to the handheld, arriving during a time when many classic franchises were being adapted for the GBA's smaller screen.
You control one of several fighters from the Mortal Kombat universe, engaging in one-on-one combat across a series of matches. The main objective is to defeat your opponents in each fight, progressing through the tournament to face the final boss. Signature mechanics include performing special moves with specific joystick and button combinations, and the series' trademark Fatalities to finish off a defeated foe.
