Montezuma's Revenge Featuring Panama Joe Game

Montezuma’s Revenge is one of those old-school platformers that feels simple at first—until you realize how much it wants to mess with you. You play as Panama Joe, this Indiana Jones knockoff who’s just trying to loot some ancient ruins, but every room is packed with spikes, snakes, and collapsing floors. The first time I played, I lost like three lives just figuring out how to time jumps over those rolling skulls.
It’s got that classic 80s arcade vibe—bright colors, chunky sprites, and a weirdly catchy soundtrack. The controls are tight, but the real challenge comes from memorizing trap patterns and hunting for keys to unlock doors. Some rooms feel downright unfair until you learn the tricks, like baiting enemies into pits or grabbing torches to light up dark passages.
If you’re into retro games that don’t hold your hand, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t be surprised when you yell at the screen after falling into the same pit for the tenth time.
