Monsters Inc. came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Disney Interactive. It was one of many licensed platformers from that era, a time when you could expect a movie to get a side scrolling adventure on the handheld. The game follows the plot of the film, putting you in the shoes of Sulley and Mike as they try to save Boo.

You switch between controlling Sulley and Mike Wazowski, each with their own abilities. Sulley is strong and can roar to stun enemies, while Mike can use his small size to access narrow passages. The main goal is to progress through factory levels and city streets, collecting scream canisters to power doors and machinery. You jump across conveyor belts, avoid enemy janitors, and solve simple environmental puzzles. The pacing is straightforward, though some enemy patterns require a bit of timing to get past.
