About Monster Summoner
Monster Summoner was a Game Boy Advance title that came out early in the system's life, though I don't recall the developer offhand. It was part of that first wave of GBA games exploring what the handheld could do beyond just ports, fitting right in with other early RPGs and strategy games on the platform.
You control a summoner who explores the world screen by screen, delving into dungeons and ruins. Your main goal is to build a roster of monsters by defeating them in turn-based battles, then adding them to your party. The signature mechanics are capturing monsters to fight for you and fusing them together to create new, more powerful allies. The pacing is deliberate, with a difficulty that requires careful party management and planning for tougher encounters. It feels like a constant process of building and refining your own personal army from the world around you.
